It is a good movie. Topic is still relevant some forty years later.. Maybe the story can foster some tolerance and compassion for other peoples’ lives in the world today. Good cast.

A late coming of age story where a man accepts his life and begins to have faith in others that they will accept it, his niece does a lot of growing and maturity in the film and becomes worldly and mature as she is exposed to the world

I loved the emotional depth of this movie. The characters were a wonderful balance of charm, ignorance, grace and acceptance. I loved how nothing was over-the-top and how the movie kept a steady pace while the story was told. Beautiful movie.

Great acting. Good story. Perhaps too much of a happy ending that is tied up with a bow. Other than that a movie certainly worth seeing and an important story that people should learn from and understand - just as timely today as when this moive was set. Bravo.
