This movie was amazing. A perfect balance of humor and drama. I laughed out loud many, many times during the whole movie. The cinematography was wonderful. The art in the movie was inspiring to me. Awesome movie. Would definitely buy the DVD when it comes out.

Quirky, funny, and sweet. So incredibly creative and so many little elements to appreciate. The story was heartfelt and not cheesy or over the top, and characterization was very well done. They also had a lot of film nods/references as the main character was into obscure film. Animation, stop motion, & fancy camera work interspersed throughout also elevated the narrative.

This movie is masterful. It's the best movie of the year so far and the best coming of age film since The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It's hilarious, dramatic, and heartbreaking and never feels forced or tonally out of place. Thomas Mann is wonderful as the lead and really has a career on his way. The whole ensemble is perfect and the movie is so well written and directed. Made me cry too!
