Loved it.

I was (pleasantly) surprised when it came to my overall opinion of the film. It is a very human film, and takes time to set up its dark pleasures. A ruinous and well-paced ride into manipulation and darkness with potent acting performances. Film noir with fantastic art deco film sets and a pulpy spin.

Bradley Cooper gives an excellent performance. It keeps you intrigued the whole time. Will definitely watch it again

I'll admit I went in with low expectations, in that the original version was so good, and I'm not a fan of Mr. Del Toro's, but everyone involved knocked it out of the park. The thing that I most appreciated was how physically solid it felt (the art direction is superb); everything seemed grounded in actual weight and space -- rather than CGI -- and it only added to the oppressive atmosphere.
