The movie shows a different perspective of our society or culture that many are unaware about. This was a great movie in helping provide that type insight.

I loved the movie for many reasons. The movie addressed the following: adopted people, like Antonio, being deported even if they've lived here many years is a topic I wasn't even aware of; racism; domestic violence (Antonio's childhood) and its effects on families, various ways people enter the country such as adoption, fleeing their country due to war (Parker's family). I appreciated seeing an Asian actor in a lead role that wasn't the stereotype: one that was nuanced, and complex. I was mad at Antonio when he told Parker to leave the tattoo parlor!
