In the genre of a 1960's era Douglas Sirk 'woman's picture' (as they used to be called; 'chick flick' in more recent terms) with elements of soap opera. But I enjoyed the archival stock footage of Times Square, the plausible performances and the soundtrack of that era which compensated for the narrative gaps and character inconsistencies (I could never quite figure out who Eva Longoria's Carmen was even though she appeared throughout the film in a variety of situations including a performance in a nightclub). But it was a nice distraction on a snowy evening during a heightened global pandemic

A beautiful romance that is only enlightened by gorgeous cinematography and a show-stopping score.
