Melissa McCarthy is very good in these non-comedic roles.

The movie was good, but it started off a little slow. I expected more comedy than there was. The soundtrack was great and represented the era well. The cast was also well-chosen.

Once I remembered it was based on a comic book it made more sense. The scenes were super short, there was no depth, everybody got killed, not sure why Common’s character did what he did...just not a lot of development. That being said, the acting was good, and it was an interesting story about female empowerment. Just glad I didn’t live in NY in the 70s.

It feels like it is missing something, some moral story more then the one in the movie.
