The Upside was funny, light, and serious all at the same time.  While not a “feel good movie” it does a great job of touching on the themes of responsibility, overreaching, and loneliness in the face of adversity.  The natural vibe between Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston on screen was a great to watch and everything about it made you feel their friendship is real not just acted.  That fact provided the best glimpse into what it was probably like for Philippe and Driss in real life.

I thought The Upside was a good movie, I love the tribute to Aretha and the central theme of friends and second chances.

Unlikely pair but shows The power of being given second chances and true friendship.

And the person who sustained a spinal cord injury 23 years ago and the movie captured the waves of emotions that we experience early in our injuries. In the beginning, you experience deep sadness from the loss of your independence and you start to develop and embrace the reality of your new life only to have small moments set you back.I was one of the individuals that happen to have seen the original version of the movie The Intouchables this movie happen to be a really good and actually funnier version of the original.
