It is conventional but its masterful and immersive handling of sound to let viewers experience the hearing loss of the leading character Ruben Stone (played by Riz Ahmed) creates a unique cinematic experience. Adding to it, is Marder's respectful writing and direction that allow us to feel this transition. With Ahmed's excellent performance that carries the film throughout, the journey and struggle of his character in order to recover his ability to hear is an insightful, emotional and visceral moment you shouldn't miss.

The movie was very good, but sad. It was interesting getting a glimpse of the deaf community.
