Excellent fantasy romp, even if one doesn't have much knowledge of D&D. Doesn't take itself too seriously, but shows character development throughout the film.

I have never played D&D but let me tell you walking into this movie you don’t need to know anything. The story pull you in and doesn’t let go. That cast has a great cemetery and so funny. I definitely recommend and I can’t wait to go back and see it again!

Fantastic fantasy film with well written, likable characters. Well shot action. Accessible to even those who haven't played. Works both on its own as a fantasy film and has fun references to the D&D lore. Witty script, hilarious jokes. Fun escapism. No political agenda. It's what movies should be! Rolls a perfect 20! Must see. Will appeal to everyone!

It's a great combination of D&D and comedy. I loved how the narrative takes elements of both and pairs them so well. Chris Pine brings it all together with his comedic skills. The CG is amazing and hilarious (fat dragon). I hope it does well enough for a sequel.
