Very dark, very brooding, especially in the film score setting the tone. Joaquin Phoenix was quite frankly amazing, providing a mentally unstable character's ascension into an important role in the Batman/Gotham mythos. While this movie won't be for everyone, every DC Universe fan should attend and take note of the RIGHT way to build a well-known figure's backstory.

Excellent retelling of a classic character.

It was amazing. My only real issue is based on the timeline Joaquin Phoenix is to old. By the time Bruce Wayne becomes Batman Joker would be an old man. Aside from that his laugh is spot on. I truly felt like he was going insane as the movie went on.

Great film. The acting was top notch and the plot was laid out well. Very dark and enjoyable.
