I thought it was ok.\rIt dragged at times going back and forth from hearing and non hearing. Then an anti climactic ending. After ALL THAT! He ends up broke deaf alone and ... what? Wished it had a happier end to hiss realization.

The film truly had the main character self actualize through finding his "QUIET PLACE". Although a number of sub-plots were touched on (additional noises) none strayed from the main character's situation. What was the " sound of metal" - the guitar music or the sounds made on the slide in the park or the distortion heard through the implants, the audience is left to choose. Interesting film. Interesting story.

Great movie. I can appreciate the director's attempt to give the viewer Ruben's experience dealing with the deaf residence in the house but having subtitles, I think, would have made it better.
