I felt that the film was a very good adaptation of the book. If I had one complaint--and this is me being very nitpicky--it's that Jordan's portrayal of Stevenson failed to fully capture the natural emotion in Stevenson's voice.

Shows relevent issues we are still dealing with today in 2019.

I think it’s an important and all too common story that needs to be heard. I would’ve liked to see more of Johnny D’s family, and Bryan’s personal life. The movie focused highly on the substance of the case, and I would’ve enjoyed more personal elements.
