Very engrossing and not the usual predictable plot.

Compelling, surprising, funny, and disturbing, "Promising Young Woman" is a timely and scathing indictment of how rape culture protects men who do horrible things that destroy the lives of innocent women. Carey Mulligan is fantastic. The film gives in to some excess, but it shines in scenes of restraint, such as Mulligan's brief, powerful scene with Alfred Molina.

This was the first film I have seen in awhile that I am genuinely SHOCKED by. Amazing!

About time there was a great entertaining movie with a twist.
