Good. A little slow and a little sad. Beautiful shots.

Stunningly shot, with a gorgeous score. The use of flashbacks is sometimes not as seemless as it ought to be, and the chemistry between the leads is lacking, to say the least. There’s a tendency towards clunky, wooden dialogue (especially in the flashbacks and romantic scenes) that even Shailene Woodley And Sam Claflin can’t overcome, and the film leans a bit too heavily into the “inspirational true story” feeling at times, which is a shame because those moments felt at odds with the majority of the film. The last act includes a “big reveal” that I think does a real disservice to Tami’s story, as though her journey and survival was not interesting enough on it’s own. Overall, I really enjoyed watching this movie and would say that the trailer adequately represented it, so if the trailer looked appealing to you I would recommend it.
