This felt like a disney channel film from 2005. The script was poorly written and predictable. Acting was unconvincing from nearly the entire cast which is crazy considering the stars that are present. The cast seemed like they were asked to act like they were acting. This film perfectly illustrates the problem in Hollywood today, instead of taking a risk and making an original story/idea, they instead make a lackluster sequel that ruined the IP credibility they built with the previous successful film because thats somehow safer.

Extremely convoluted plot, very predictable no twists no turns, unlike the previous installments. Even the magic "tricks" we're uninspiring. The only saving grace was it's short run time and talented actors who had good chemistry and good performances especially Rosamund Pike I was really hoping that there was more to her character but nope she was just a cliche villain. Even Jesse Eisenberg seemed bored and was phoning it in in a few of his scenes. This movie definitely had a lot of wasted potential on what the four horsemen have been up to in the last 10 years.

Contrived. I think they wrote the ending and then tried to make the plot fit.

This film does not have the magic that the first film in the series had. The script was awful, with no sense of cohesiveness, as if the writers did not break down the storylines into signposts as to where they wanted each scene to go. So they just made up some wild ideas and threw it in the movie. Plus, there were so many characters that it did not give time for each character to develop any depth during the film. this film would have been better if it was just a remake of the first film with the new actors.
