Sarandon was superb in the role of The Meddler. Seemed as tho there were many people in audience last night who recognized themselves or their own mothers in the film - laughter, a few tears, too. The story was funny with a dose of bitter-sweet - we went from loathing Sarandon's mother to understanding and loving her by the end. Was great to see JK Simmons in a sympathetic, gentle role, too.
