Artistic, flawless production.

It was the perfect period romance to cap off 2020. It allowed me to escape into the Platonic ideal of romance--what falling in love was "supposed" to be in the 50's and 60's with Black characters that one rarely gets to see in this kind of film. I was wooed by the soundtrack, costumes, and sets. And, yet, it wasn't sugary sweet and allowed enough room for love to be complicated with a fairytale ending, of course.

Well done movie, beautiful costumes, amazing plot and characters! Such an amazing love story. I would watch it again

It's the Black love for me! I appreciated that the depiction of the love between Sylvie and Robert was realistically sincere, complicated, determined and enduring!
