With my love for the saxophone, 50's music, and Tessa Thompson, I was hooked by this film in its opening minutes. From the archival footage used for its establishing shots, to the graininess of the picture, the mood that director Eugene Ashe creates feels so Old Hollywood.\r\rTessa Thompson is also a main contributor to creating that old school mood. Thompson exudes and excess of elegance and poise as the titular character. She looks and acts like a Hollywood scarlet plucked from a bygone era.

First off, Tessa Thompson never disappoints. It was nice to see an old fashioned love story. I think the movie is destined to be a romance classic.\rI wasn't familiar with Nnamdi Asomugha before this, I think he did a pretty good job.

Really enjoyed it. Loved the score and period songs. Hope it finds an audience.
