It was better than I would expect from the current unimaginative Hollywood remake industry. I still think Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai is far better and the 1960 adaptation of this work into the Magnificent Seven is an American classic that still stands the test of time. This version takes some liberties with six shooters that seem to magically shoot many more than six bullets along with some random PC tokens but it manages to tell a good story with some new twists from the past versions.

Beginning was boring, edging was great. Movie could've used more Chris Pratt. Also the Indian guy was cool, but he was barely shown. The entire theater clapped when he said "you're a disgrace".

The first act of the film and the establishment of character introductions and motives was murky at best and dishonest at worst, often feeling like a checklist rather than anything organic. However, once the movie hit its second act and all of the main characters were gathered in Rose Creek they did prove to have a natural chemistry with one another. From that point onward the film was actually quite entertaining.

Good choice of actors made it interesting. Ending was not liked.
