Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is a well-crafted love letter to the Arthouse greats, seamlessly woven into a moving story about friendship and loss.

The movie was well-made and the acting was quite good. While the story had an underlying sadness, the film struck the right balance. It treated the storyline about the illness with respect but had an appropriate degree of humor and sweetness. I work with teens on a daily basis, and I feel that the young characters seemed authentic.
