Movie felt long and dragged on. I know it was a remake but the plot felt stale. Given the huge cast i was hoping for a better story.

Great action. Plot a little thin. Didn't tie me in emotionally to the story.

I have missed seeing westerns, as they were once a staple subject for movies. But no one does a John Ford movie like the Searchers. I will say that the scenery and vistas of this movie did pay tribute to those amazing landscape vistas and sense of place, like Ford. The 7 gave us time to see conflicted heros and anti-heros find themselves, but when the gatling gun came out, it was just a massacre and it was changed from man vs man to man vs machine and the film lost its steam. Glad we went.
