Hard to cheer for the protagonist, interesting story to adapt to film.

The movie started out great but the kingpin part was never shown, which was a bummer since it movie was believed to be about a kingpin.... we saw the nice car but nothing really that shows his kingpin status...

The acting was great. The ending was different, I think it could have lasted another 20 minutes to show his life in prison and his family’s fight for his release.

Solid performances all around in a somewhat paint-by-numbers biopic. I couldn't stop myself from thinking, though: of all the stories from Detroit in the 80s dealing with the crack epidemic, was this one about a white kid the right one to choose?
