Denzel Washington is a great actor. The supporting cast was good too - I was surprised to see the Law and Order guy in that role - he was wonderful. While the story line was good, it didn't fully develop. I don't like extended battle scenes and this one was just a tad too long. I like that there was not a lot of blood and gore - just a good old fashion "shoot 'em up". And there was no need to have the woman's bosom exposed given the circumstances.

It was a good, but not great remake of the original. Enjoyed some of the lighter humorous moments as the film was quite violent due to the nature of the storyline.

I have to compare to original and it just does not have what the original had...first the music was better in the original...second the cast was better in the original who could match Yul Brenner, Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Charles Bronson, Eli Wallach, last the story line this was a story about revenge and the original was about the peasants

I had not seen the original so did not know what to expect. The theme of good vs evil was present; many humorous parts had the audience chuckling; and the scenery was breathtaking. The final battle included a lot of violent scenes which I should have anticipated in an old style western. Overall, well done, but definitely an action flick!!
