Very good coming of age comedy/drama. Steinfeld gave a very good performance and the writing in the movie was honest and realistic. Woody Harrelson was excellent in his role as the teacher as well. I would say this movie was in the same vein as some of the John Hughes classics like "Sixteen Candles". Would definitely recommend it and hope the director/writer continues to make more movies in the future.

Very entertaining and funny coming of age movie. A candid look at the concerns of youth during this current decade.

"The Edge of Seventeen" is SO. GOOD. I knew going in it would be funny, because Woody Harrelson. What I wasn't expecting was all the other range of emotions - and the callbacks to my own time as an almost-17-year-old. I feel like this is my generation's John-Hughes-coming-of-age film. It's funny, it's warm, it's somber in just the right places. Woody Harrelson is the ONLY actor who could pull off his role. The interactions between him and Hailee Steinfeld are spot-on perfect. They have a chemistry and rapport that is flawless. Give him the Oscar already, seriously. Hailee herself portrays Natalie with all the right notes. Natalie's flawed, but thanks to Hailee still relatable and likeable. I would say more but I don't want to give too much away.Go see this movie. You'll laugh, you'll maybe cry a little, you'll think. And the soundtrack absolutely rocks!
