Acting and photography were good. Script and storyline could have been better. Streep's singing was too good and much better than the actual Jenkin's recordings. Jenkins was actually off pitch most of the time and Streep was not.

It was funny and touching and delightful. A nice evening at the movies.

It certainly was not what I expected - not seeing any advertising for this movie - but I am a little ambivalent. Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant did a fantastic job - but the ambivalency came in when I couldn't decide if this was supposed to be a comedy or not. I really felt sorry for Florence Jenkins at the end.

I thought the movie was endearing, funny and entertaining. I wasn't disappointed!
