A gripping and thought-provoking telling of the arrest, abuse, and fight for freedom of Mohommadou Slahi. An outstanding cast and taut direction and writing make this easy to recommend. Mature audiences.

So very sad to know these horrible acts were carried out by our U.S. Military and the President of the United States. I know I wanted those responsible for the terrible acts committed on and off our soil and the numerous american lives lost held responsible as much as the next person, but to do away with justice and proving beyond a reasonable doubt that one is guilty is WRONG. This man was tortured in ways that are disgusting and one who claims they are acting in the name of justice makes it even worse. He lost 14 years of his life because no one bothered to investigate properly his answers to their questions and accusations. This movie should make us all question just how much our government can, does, and has abused its power not just with Guantanamo Bay but in every branch. I must say I learned much more than I ever knew and it has me asking a lot of questions. Definitely a movie people should see but know that it may change the way you think and feel about things.

I thought Mauritanian was a 5star movie. Well casted and well directed. I’m sure some scenes for some viewers were difficult to watch but it was important to the story. Every detainee has a story whether innocent or guilty. We saw one of their stories. I would recommend it to friends.
