He is right in not wanting to bring Wally to his father's funeral since he hasn't come out to his family except Beth. He is a product of his milieu and coming out was not yet widely embraced.

Uncle Frank was moving and masterfully acted. The entire cast is perfect, but Peter Macdissi steals every scene as Wally.

Very touching and powerful and makes us proud that nowadays there is more acceptance to all kinds of lifestyles regardless of any beliefs or religion. It makes us feel how long we have come from and continue with this journey.
