The film looks great (especially on IMAX) but the plot is a bit of a mess. Kong: Skull Island was a better Monsterverse film, but I still have hope for Godzilla vs. Kong next year.

The directors cut should just be of all of the Monster scenes. The female lead was the dumbest character ever and nobody's motives made sense. The action and SFX were fantastic, however. I only recommend this for a mindless visual intake

It was a lot better than I expected. It was very predictable, too much like Pacific Rim, and the monsters were not even that much of the story ( we saw them briefly, there were 4 that were the main story, we were teased with the others). The plot was pretty decent and tbh (spoiler) it was fun to watch a city that wasn't NYC get destroyed. It's maybe worth a matinee, definitely a $1.89 rental

Too much humans not enough monsters. Did not like the orca slant at all. Film was too dark
