It was good but relied a lot on the nostalgia of the shining. Would’ve liked a little less predictability and caricature performances to Shelly Duvall and Jack Nicholson. Was it a sequel to the movie or the book?

Overall it was a good movie and it has hard to live up to its predecessor. I think this is your average new age pop horror film that borrows from the story without adding anything really.

I think the directing and little details make this movie better than I thought it would be. I enjoyed the R rating, but I think that's going to ostracize what feels like the target audience. The first 2/3 is better than the last 1/3.

its was creepy and cheesy at times. Can't analyze this one too much because a lot of things were just unexplainable. In the moment, it was pretty good. 3 out of 5
