The film gives an authentic portrait of a teenager torn between two worlds: the "normal" and the "isolated" one her parents reside in. In this case, both of her parents are deaf and she, as the hearing child, has served as their unpaid aide and interpreter for the rest of the world. All of the characters are developed except for best friend Gertie.

I really enjoyed this movie. The acting was great, and the story was very heart warming and wrenching at the same time. I loved it!

It was beautiful! I watch a lot of ASL movies and TV shows and this one made me feel right at home. I'm not hearing impaired, but I learned ASL earlier in my life. I love how this film makes the family dynamic relatable to families that can hear as well as those that cannot. The film was funny, heartwarming and definitely made me cry! I definitely give Coda four stars!

It was a very good movie. Because of all the signing, you do have to read a lot.
