I don’t understand the purpose of this movie or the intended audience. We have seen Malcolm and Muhammad played by Denzel and Will, respectively. Are you kidding me?! It would have been better if you gave this to a non-fictional event. Why make a fictional story not set in today’s time or the future?! Where is the imagination and creativity. There are more black stories that need voice. \rCostumes and scenery were nice for the time.

It's a stage play that doesn't adapt well to the screen. Too talky, and it doesn't effectively explain the rift between Malcolm X and Elijah Muhammad. It also over-emphasizes the alleged ambivalence of Clay/Ali's conversion. He was far more committed than this portrayal suggests.
