Despite the title of the movie implying that it's a comedy, it was not. It was much more a "light-hearted" look at the serious side of the Vietnam war. The movie kept the interest going, however, throughout, with more of an adventurous look over 3 days in-country.

Very entertaining

The most important thing I can say is that once I got home from a screening, I emailed one of my dad’s best friends, who’s a Vietnam vet to tell him how respectfully done I thought the movie was. Plenty of time for laughs, and my heart broke one time in particular. I’m pretty sensitive to gore, and didn’t think anything depicted was gratuitous.
