You get a good sense of the struggles of the people portrayed, life and times of a deserter from the US Civil War. It was amusing to see how the results of life at that time affected life of descendants many years later. It was just odd how the two were mixed together throughout the movie.

It was good. I was left with a lot of unanswered questions so I'm going to try to find out more information on the events portrayed in the film.

liked it but found a disconnect about the 85 years later story - if they had solely focused on the first part of the story would have given it a 4.5!

Good story but seemed more like a documentary and the going forward and back 85 years was very odd and took away from the movie, thought there was going to be more action in it.
