Leave the classics alone, even thou this is the 3rd Ben-Hur. The race at end was good

Not as good as the silent nor the 1959 version. Frustrating in parts. I like Morgan Freeman but his character's commentary during the chariot race detracted and was so unnecessary. The miracle felt perfunctory and anticlimatic. I also didn't believe the sudden changes by Massalah.

Only reason I gave 2 stars was because Morgan Freeman was in it. It in NO way holds up to the original. I realize it's a new time with more advances in cinema, however when a viewer is more worried if the horse was alright i think there might be a problem.

the original "ben hur" is one of my favorite films. i don't know why it was remade. the central characters didn't draw me in as in the original. i could have skipped this movie.
