De très bons comédiens. Quelques longueurs

The movie presents too many characters without developing them sufficiently for the audience to feel invested instead of just a 3rd person observer. What impact does a mother that is a forest witch bear, what life does Shakespeare lead when he is away, how does he experience his son’s passing aside from the play, why should we care about an older daughter. None of these questions are answered because the movie is plagued by a variety of repetitive scenes that don’t deepen the audience’s investment in the story. The lines in the play could have been modernized to suit a wider audience.

Although this movie is made up, it incorporates some true events, this is a love story about a famous playwright

The movie had some good emotional scenes with excellent acting. The children in the movie were great. However, it was a little slow moving for my taste.
