It was a thoughtful YA movie. My guess is the praying, talking to God, comes off less hokey in the book - though I have never read it. I liked the coming of age themes and was glad to watch it with my 13 year old daughter. The question of religion and where one belongs is a big one and I like how this was treated in the movie.

It was cute, but I probably should have ready more about it before having my husband go with me. It is more of a movie for a Mother/Daughter situation. Love the Actors and Actresses.

I really thought the movie was cute. Maybe market as a chick flick, for a little older crowd 50+. I’m not sure young ladies would really get it. My husband and I went, I laughed and thought it was funny. He thought there were some funny parts, but didn’t laugh as much as I did.\r

It was cute, and funny. It brought me back to my middle school years. I laughed and I cried. It was truly heart warming.
