The beginning was frantic and hard to follow, but once it found its voice it was a heartwarming tale that brought me to tears. A wonderful new classic for Christmas.

My wife liked it more than I. It didn't have enough action for me. I liked the ending but the first half of the movie almost put me to sleep. I would only recommend it to woman friends and not to guy friends.

If people are into little women, its definitely worth seeing on the big screen.

If you hadn't read the book, the story would be utterly confusing and the movie meaningless. Having read the book several times, I knew what was going on, but was annoyed by the many time jumps. Saorise Ronan was brilliant and Emma Watson, Meryl Streep, James Norton, Bob Odenkirk and Chris Cooper were well cast. I was disappointered in the actress chosen to portray Amy. She was not at all what I had pictured in my mind. Laura Dern as Marmee was a fail. Laurie was well acted but looked too young
