Interesting way to synthesize the concurrent strands of the civil rights movement in the mid-60s, through a fictionalized encounter between key Black figures from sports, entertainment, and the movement's leadership itself. Doesn't do a perfect job of balancing these men as characters and as symbols and doesn't entirely click for me as a result. It's almost too much to balance, telling us in quick intros and outros who each man was and where he was going, when each one could easily sustain and previously has sustained entire films with their life stories. Cast is great though.

I thought it was an interesting story but I thought the pace was really slow. \r\rHalfway through the movie I thought “this must be an adaptation of a play” because the main characters are just sitting in a room with a lot of dialogue. My favorite part was the end showing the 4 characters out in the world.

One night in Miami is a thought provoking silhouette of its time. Similar to 12 angry men and or even the Breakfast Club, it is not afraid to force you to look within your self for the answers. Great film!
