It's a touching movie about a military woman and her assigned dog, which blossomed into a lifetime friendship. Would have liked a bit more action in the Afghanistan scenes and a more robust storyline.

This based-on-a-true story film combines the elements of the classic underachiever with the desire to escape her go-nowhere life and the incredible experiences that follow. Kate Mara is Megan Leavey, a young woman who needs a drastic change to kick start her life. This two hankie film will seriously touch dog lovers!
