I enjoyed the movie. Especially, Danielle Brooks' portrayal of Sofia. I wished some of the numbers had been longer, specifically, "Maybe God's Tryin To Tell You Something" but that didn't take away from how precious the rendition by Henson and Grier was. The dance numbers were no joke. The choreography was top notch. What a good time to release it —during Christmas time.

A remake of the 1985 movie BUT much more uplifting because it really played out like the broadway musical treatment. Still superbly acted... plenty of valleys which made the peaks all the more satisfying. Tragedies and Raw and powerful portrayals. antagonists that you really wanted to loathe... just a great movie throughout. Definitely reccomend!
