Well acted, good at conveying the violence, craziness and crass business elements of the massive cocaine and money laundering activities. I found it confusing at times, like the crazy Santaria guy and when the security guards accompanied the BCCI officials after Mazur told them his clients were cocaine dealers. Cranston was too old to be convincing, i was too distracted by his Reagan-dyed hair, the CIA angle was murky and an unnecessary distraction, the written stuff at the end about CIA funding of the mujahaddein etc would have been enough. I was in Miami in the 80's, when the bellmen at ordinary hotels wore gold chains and Rolexes and the top lawyers drove Rolls Royces, the movie failed to capture the congruence of over-the-top trashy glamour existing alongside the violence and seediness.

The movie really opened my eyes to what keeps America floating. We hate to admit it but its the truth.

Movie was not really what I expected but it was entertaining. I was billed more like an action movie with more involvement into Escobar's drug empire. While it did cover that I expected to see Escobar's character and interaction on the screen. There were parts that really didn't make much sense and needed explanation. Overall it felt like a made for movie version of Miami Vice without the cool detectives. I will still recommend it on my FB Page (Front Row) but as a matinee. thanks for the screening tickets
