I know I'm not the target audience but I am old enough to remember the 80's and this just feels off. Why make a 'period piece' if not for some reason? Even the fashions aren't silly enough to make fun of how people used to dress. From what I can gather it's supposedly set in 1988 yet some of the songs featured are 5 years or more older than that. Also, the trailer seemed like it would be a comedy but I thought this just dragged from start to finish (nevermind the streaming issues). \rHaven't read the book but after this I wouldn't pick it up even to see how faithful it is. Sorry!

It was a nice film, it kind of reminded me of Stranger Things
