Had alot of humor mixed throughout the drama, but was overall a little too slow for me.

Overall it's well acted. Good mix of humor with the heavy subject matter. I felt the ending was anticlimactic, rushed and a bit disappointing though. Overall I was entertained.

Although I would recommend the movie, I would do so with some reservations. It is an interesting (true) story and the performances were great (especially McConaughey) but the problem is that the movie never drew me in because you couldn't root for the characters. We were supposed to have sympathy for the character of Rick because it was his story but ultimately we knew that he just made bad choices and he was responsible for that, so he got what he deserved. I couldn't feel sorry for him.

Unfortunately I could not enjoy the movie because the African American couple that were sitting next to me would not stop talking. When asked to stop talking during the movie the girl replied with "I'll try" and then they both started laughing and became louder and more obnoxious. I wish theater staff would kick out moviegoers that disrupt everyone's experience. I understand that this was a movie screening and free but I usually leave honest reviews and I feel cheated of that this time.
