Not as good as the 1959 version with Charlton Heston.

The 3D effects were excellent.However, this remake pales in comparison to the 1959 version (which was itself a remake, of course). It seemed to me this version attempted to play up both romance and vengeance in ways that fundamentally changed the thrust. This version dropped much of the character development in order to produce a 2 hour film as compared to nearly 4 hours for the 1959 version.

Entertaining.

Entertaining film with a terrific chariot scene just like the original.
