A interestingly enjoyable flim

I enjoyed the movie. I had some expectations going into it because of the director, Guillermo de Toro. was a unique love story and the acting was superb. Michael Shannon played the ultimate bad guy & he made the audience cringe whenever he was onscreen. Some of the scenes were a bit more violent than I had anticipated, which made several scenes difficult to watch.
