I thought it was a cute, coming-of-age story but did not like that fact that the mother kept saying she was a Christian but didn't go to church, didn't pray, didn't read a Bible, or didn't share the gospel with her daughter. I also did not like that the paternal grandmother was living in sin in front of the child with a man she was not married to.

It was a good coming-of-age movie about a girl growing up in the 1970's. I read thebook when I was young. It covers lots of topics a girl faces when hitting puberty. This movie is more relatable to females. Males may feel a little uncomfortable in some parts because it is geared toward issues that young women face, like menstruation, getting her 1st bra, etc. \rIt is a very endearing m9vie also t

I thought it stayed true to the book, which is important to me. The casting was perfect. Glad they kept it in the 1970s rather than modernizing it. It was very cute and enjoyable and brought back fond memories of the Judy Blume books that I loved as a kid.
