The movie is quite disjointed jand requires a lot more concentration to keep up with all the flashbacks and forwards and all that. And it’s about 45 minutes too long.

Liked the part with Boris and the main actor but the rest of the movie felt long and not touching. It was visually beautiful and the performances were great.It felt like a great book was summed up in a weird way.

Story line was too long and not good at all.

overall it just felt like it was trying so hard to strike emotional chords and it just didn’t hit them for me. The main character as a child was much more interesting but he rarely spoke his emotions or expressed what he was feeling so it left me a little cold. The film should’ve explained the reward from turning in the painting and what the character did for his redemption to make him likable.
