Very glad I got to see this on a big screen; a lot of the film is made up of beautifully lit/composed medium and close-up shots that showcase the intimate performances (Teyana Taylor and Josiah Cross!) that are its beating heart. Something about seeing the human face two-stories tall is so magical. Outside of its outstanding visuals and cast, it seems tenderly written and directed by A.V. Rockwell. You can feel a lot of the care put into the character-writing and I can't wait to see what they work on next. Very sweet and subtly powerful film. Wish we got a bit more time with Terry in the final

This movie captured the intergenerational trauma and ongoing struggles throughout communities and inner cities. There were several layers of changes and struggles as it relates to families and incarceration. This movie did an amazing job with displaying family, strength, and courage.

I didn’t know Teyana Taylor before this movie, but she sure can carry a story — that is some major charisma! She was magnetic and got us engaged within the first minute. I was also impressed that they could take a twist that seems melodramatic and make it so believable.
