This movie captivated me from the moment the film opened! This is QUALITY and positive storytelling. Too often African Americans are depicted in the most negative manner. Not this one. Her relationship with her dad is a strong feature. I would need to write a book to say all that I found praiseworthy. The acting was natural, invincible, impeccable. Oh and yes her interaction with a BFF cousin! Hopefully that is every Black female’s best memory of growing up. It is mine. I couldn’t help but think of MY cousin who I shared secrets with. She died of breast cancer in 2008....she was my Mona Lisa

Such a wonderful movie that shoes that true love endures all.
