While not at all the definitive version of 'Little Women' , Greta Gerwig's film is a grown up retelling that assumes a lot: the Louisa May Alcott novel is its heart, but the film starts at the end & flashes back. You would have to guess that the March family patriarch is away fighting the Civil War because scenes of the 4 little girls together are few and far between. That said, it's fuel for the #MeToo movement & that's reason enough for Miss Gerwig's liberties. Gorgeous & superb acting!

Great Film! Great flow and tempo. I wasn't familiar with the book but I was able to follow along throughout the non-linear style. One of the years best. Greta is a great filmmaker.

Really really beautiful film, amazing performances. The only thing that was a little tough to follow was the parallel actions happening at different points in Jo's life.
